What exactly is an "adventure wedding / elopement"?
If you're here you're at least interested in what this could mean for you - but basically it's whatever you envision your celebration of love to look like. That could include hiking, kayaking, taking a scenic helicopter tour, jeeping, and so much more.... but the theme is spending time in nature together. Couples who have adventurous weddings or elopements value experiences and quality time over things - that's where I come in, to document all of it!
How many photos will we get from our elopement?
The total number of delivered photos will vary depending on the activities, locations, timelines, etc. Therefore, I don't have a specific number that I will deliver to you. Hundreds to thousands of images are shot and then the very best are chosen to be edited for your final gallery!
The exception to this rule is astrophotography sessions - only a few final art pieces are delivered because of the time it takes to craft these masterpieces.
What is your editing style?
In one word: MAGICAL. My editing style is inspired by the outdoors - it is vibrant, joyful, and true to life. I don't use a heavy hand while editing - filters and color grading are not in my tool kit. I pride myself on capturing the scene exactly as it feels. It is my goal that your photos will look beautiful and timeless for all of your years to come!
Are you a guide? Can you take us {insert adventure activity here} ?
While I have TONS of outdoor experience I do not work as a certified outdoor guide - I'm your photographer! Full-time guides are exceptional at what they do and I am exceptional at what I do - if you want the best of both worlds it's a great idea to hire a specialist. Outdoor activities pose inherent risks and it is important to mitigate those by working with people who do {insert activity} every day. I am definitely comfortable hiking with couples in backcountry locations but for activities such as (but not limited to) canyoneering, rock climbing, scrambling, rafting, horseback riding, skydiving, parachuting, rappelling, private flights, or anything with the word 'extreme' on the front of it, couples should work with a certified guide. This ensures that there is a high standard of safety for everyone involved.
Are you a wedding planner?
It's not in my official title, but it's in a lot of what I provide! I am as involved as you want me to be in planning - I'm here to help with everything from looking up permit needs, location selection, vendor recommendations, timeline creation, weather updates, garment selection, adventure ideas, travel & lodging tips, holding your pupper while you put your dress on, fixing your dress... the list goes on and on. The only thing I don't do is book anything (permits, lodging/accommodations, vendors, etc.) or provide guiding services (see above). Clients are required to book and pay for all of their own permits, lodging, vendors, and guides.
Are you ordained? Can you marry us?
The short answer is YES. I am ordained with the ULC (Universal Life Church) and can perform marriage ceremonies throughout the US.
The long answer is... you only get pronounced married ONCE, and I'd love to capture those fleeting and intense emotions for you on my camera AS they are happening! I always recommend to my couples to have someone else besides me make it official - but if you really want me to, I definitely can. (I originally got my ordination as more of a backup, like if the scheduled minister is unable to attend last-minute).
How far in advance should we reach out to book you?
I book up to two years in advance.
...but if you want a session next week, send me a DM! It's never too late to plan something amazing.
Thanks so much for your message!
I will reply to you as soon as possible - timelines may vary depending on if I am in the field with a client (where I may not have service!)
